Library as a Learning Resource:- A Library
serves as a vital learning resource, providing access to a vast and diverse
collection of information, knowledge, and ideas. It acts as a central hub for
academic and intellectual exploration, supporting the learning and research
needs of students, faculty and the broader community. Through its extensive
holding of books journals, databases and digital resources .A library offers a
wealth of information on various subjects, enabling users to explore topics
in-depth and stay current with the latest development. By providing quiet study
areas, collaborative workspaces, and technology
enabled learning environments, libraries create a conducive atmosphere for
learning and academic pursuits.
Library is automated using
Integrated Library Management System (ILMS):- SOUL 3.0. Software for
College Library. ((SOUL) is a
state-of-the-art integrated library management software designed and developed
by the INFLIBNET centre based on requirements of college and university
libraries. It is a user-friendly software developed to work under client-server
environment. Books have been entered through SOUL. But issue-return has not
been initiated through due to scarcity of Library Staff. It shall be considered
on priority basis during the forthcoming academic session.
The Institution has subscription of
ONOS (one Nation One Subscription). ONOS is an initiative aimed at providing
unified access to resources and subscriptions across the country. ONOS
facilitates collaboration and knowledge sharing among institution.
The Institution
has subscription for following
e-resources e-journals e- books through NDLI. National Digital Library of
India. NDLI subscription can be a valuable addition to a college library,
providing access to a vast collection of digital resources and supporting
research and academic pursuits.
The
institution has also subscription for
following a range of digital resources, including e-books, online
journals ,and language learning platforms through BCI. British Council of
India.
Library
has organized the internship of students by Library staff . A library
internship is a practical experience program designed to provide students.
Interns develop skills in areas like cataloguing, reference services and library
management.
Library open for 24 hours, it started from 13 march 2024.
Many students utilized this opportunity.
